Lower Downtown Condos for Sale

LoDo, the oldest part of Denver, dates to the 1860s gold rush. Today, with its million-dollar lofts and dozens of brewpubs, restaurants and nightclubs, there are few clues that LoDo was once Skid Row. But from the 1890s silver bust to the 1970s, the area between Larimer and Wynkoop Streets from Cherry Creek to 20th Street contained flophouses, missions and bars.

LoDo Real Estate

The Lodo real estate market is diverse offering everything from multi million dollar penthouses in the heart of downtown to historic mansions and warehouse conversions. One of the best places in the city to find a condo or loft, Lodo is a popular district with professionals and home buyers looking for an urban oasis with lots of history and plenty of action.

Designation of the LoDo Historic District in 1988 ended demolition of historic buildings for parking lots and gave tax incentives and grants for restoration of LoDo’s old-fashioned brick-and-stone structures.

Amenities

Adjacent to the 16th Street Mall and Larimer Square, LoDo is a playland for pub crawlers and fine diners, besides being home to the Colorado Rockies. Though it’s not (yet) known as a shopping district, the seeds of capitalism have been planted. Art galleries are LoDo’s forte, purveying works ranging from highbrow to kitsch.
