Homes surrounding Congress Park are as colorful as the park’s history. Congress Park is bounded by Colfax Avenue on the north, 6th Avenue to the south, Harrison Street on the east and York Street on the west. This area contains the 7th Avenue Historic District, the largest such district in Denver; and containing homes built mainly between 1890 and the mid 1930s. Mission, Mediterranian Revival, Italianate, Dutch Colonial and Victorian homes can be found here. Elsewhere, the “Denver Square” and bungalow are common home styles. Early Art Deco buildings and high rises dating to the 60s make home options in this neighborhood more flexible.

Congress Park homes range from the mid-200’s to over $1M. The average price in 2010 was about $450, with the median price being just below $400.

Congress Park Borders: 6th Ave to the south, Colorado Blvd to the east, Josephine to the west, and Colfax to the north.

A big draw with Congress Park real estate is the consistency of homes and the proximity to Cherry Creek North. Cherry Creek North is about 16 city blocks of shops, restaurants and boutiques. Most Denver neighborhoods have 1 or 2 blocks of shops but having this popular retail district nearby provides residents with single family homes and walk-ability to almost everything they need. There is an eclectic mix of dining opportunities – Greek, Japanese, Chinese, French, Italian, Vietnamese and American – particularly along East Colfax Avenue.

Residents are also close to the Town Center on 12th Ave. and Clayton, and will enjoy proximity to the new redeveloped “hospital district,” that will merge several city hospitals. Congress Park offers easy access to downtown Denver, the I-25 and I-70.

Congress Park features a number of recreational opportunities, including eight tennis courts, athletic fields, a children’s playground, picnic pavilion and a public outdoor swimming pool. The adjacent Denver Botanical Gardens is also a popular place for a scenic walk.
