Originally founded in 1864 as the Colorado Seminary, the University of Denver (aka DU) had a rocky start thanks to the unstable economy created by Denver’s gold rush. But it landed on its feet – and in its current location at University Blvd and Evans Avenue – in 1890. Since then the campus and the other University neighborhood real estate that surrounds it have continued to thrive.

And if you’re feeling hungry afterwards, there are lots of Denver “institutions” around DU for you to consider: enjoy a milkshake from Spankys Roadhouse, falafel from Jerusalem Restaurant or perhaps a loaded burrito from Chipotle – the chain’s flagship restaurant in Denver.
